It is a historical and cultural park built on a site where original Okazaki Castle was once stood. Iyeyasu and Mikawa Bushi Museum is located in the park. Okazaki Park was recognized one of the best 100 urban parks and one of the best 100 cherry blossoms sites of Japan in 1989. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the castle tower have been converted into a historic museum; “Domain duties and lordship”on 2F, “Castle-town culture and industries” on 3F and “Castle and Lords” on 4F. The displays contain authentic historical materials to give visitors an idea of what Okazaki and its feudal lords were like in the Edo Period. You can join free tour at Kakukyu, the long-established Miso producer to learn about Hatcho Miso. It is definitely the place to visit while you are in Okazaki ! Okazaki Castle, and 2 rivers Otogawa-river and Yahagigawa-river provide attractive location for the event.Melody Star Mine, a music synchronized firework and more up-to-date fireworks are displayed without a break. Also many as 100 stalls are set up along the street. It’s a must-see !
