Okazaki Park

It is a historical and cultural park built on a site where original
Okazaki Castle was once stood. Iyeyasu and Mikawa Bushi
Museum is located in the park. Okazaki Park was recognized
one of the best 100 urban parks and one of the best 100 cherry
blossoms sites of Japan in 1989. The refreshing and refined
park is worth visit not only at cherry blossoms time but all
through the year.

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the castle tower have been
converted into a historic museum; “Domain duties and lordship”on
2F, “Castle-town culture and industries” on 3F and “Castle and
Lords” on 4F. The displays contain authentic historical materials to
give visitors an idea of what Okazaki and its feudal lords were like in
the Edo Period. The observatory on the 5th floor boasts a panoramic
view of the Mikawa Plains.

The museum exhibits image of Iyeyasu and Mikawa Bushi
(Samurai warrior) with number of authentic historical materials. 3D
images and computer graphic displays will take you back in time. 7
meters diorama replicates the famous battle for the sundered realm,
“Battle of Sekigahara.”
Hatcho Miso warehouse street, Hatcho Miso

Hatcho Miso area was chosen for location filming of NHK morning
drama serial, Junjo Kirari. You can join free tour at Kakukyu, the
long-established Miso producer to learn about Hatcho Miso. It is
definitely the place to visit while you are in Okazaki !
Okazaki Fireworks

The fireworks festival is held annually on the first Saturday
(Sunday in case of rain on the Saturday) in August. Okazaki Castle,
and 2 rivers Otogawa-river and Yahagigawa-river provide attractive
location for the event.Melody Star Mine, a music synchronized
firework and more up-to-date fireworks are displayed without
a break. Also many as 100 stalls are set up along the street.
It’s a must-see !

AEON MALL is a large shopping mall complex. Shops, restaurants
and amusement park, you can find almost everything there.
It also has AEON CINEME, showing latest movies every day.

shops have different business hours). It is easy to get by using
our free rental bike!
National Institutes of Natural Sciences

It is a national institute consists of 3 research institutes:
Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), National Institute for Basic
Biology (NIBB) and National Institute for Physiological Sciences
(NIPS). Our hotel is the closest place to stay. Please use Green

Okazaki Minami Park

Take Route248 toward Kota/Gamagori and turn right at
Minami-Koenguchi intersection. It’s a small park, yet has a Ferris
wheel, monorail ride and tennis court. You can also enjoy bird
watching in its plum garden, and swimming in the pool in summer.
It’s a nice place to visit with your kids or partner.
